I found a path through autoimmune illness and my mission is to share what I've learned.

My clients have ranged from preschool children to adults in their mid-90s. They are teachers, CEOs, attorneys, pharmacists, nurses, psychotherapists, artists, retirees, and the list goes on.

My specialty is helping people experience joy in moving their bodies, and to realize that pain and aging isn’t the end of their story.

For someone who had lacked the self-confidence and desire for trying something new, the Nia Meditation was a night of being able to explore my own path. It was the first time I moved without anybody’s disapproval or criticism. Thank you for allowing me to grow!

Like you, perhaps, I started life as a vibrant soul with creative dreams. My heart longed to be a professional ballerina but that was not meant to be. After deep grief for this loss I followed with careers in television and radio broadcasting, then business management to pay my bills as a single mom. However, this career demanded much more of me and my creative spirit slowly began fading. The “real me” started to take a back seat and my body would soon follow.

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) hit me from out of the blue and caused excruciating inflammation in my joints. It left me on the couch sleeping away the days on pain medication. During this dark time that lasted 8 years, I eventually found the right doctor and a huge gift in a movement practice called Nia®. Movement is medicine. We hold “issues in our tissues” from past experiences and traumas which affect our physical, mental and emotional health. Mindful dance-movement is a way to help us move and release and get relief— at any age. You deserve to live your life, and pain does not have to be the end of your story.
