I found a path through autoimmune illness and my mission is to share what I've learned.
My clients are mostly adults in their 50s through 90s. They are teachers, CEOs, attorneys, pharmacists, nurses, psychotherapists, massage therapists, artists, retirees, and the list goes on.
When people experience the freedom that happens with practicing mind-body movement, they realize that aging can feel good!

Like you, perhaps, I started life as a vibrant soul with creative dreams. My heart longed to be a professional ballerina but that was not meant to be. Grieving deeply for this loss, I bounced back with a career in television and radio broadcasting, then onto business management to pay my bills as a single mom. This business demanded so much of me that my creative spirit began to fade. The “real me” started to take a back seat and my body would soon follow.
Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) hit me from out of the blue and caused excruciating inflammation in my joints. It left me on the couch sleeping away the days on pain medication for years. During this time I eventually found a doctor who could help me, and a huge gift in the movement practice called Nia®.
Dance was back in my life and I got to move in a way that was right for my body. Slowly but surely, I returned to feeling healthy again!
Movement is natural medicine. We hold the “issues in our tissues” from past experiences and traumas which can affect our physical, mental and emotional health. Mindful movement is a way to release tension and feel relief . . . at any age. You deserve to live your life and pain does not have to be the end of your story.
